Key Systems Simulated

Checklist item triggers & flows

High Thrust-to-Weight Flight Characteristics
Shorter fuselage and lower operating weights result in exceptional climb performance and high-altitude climb margins.
Dual Digital Flight Management Computers
Pegasus FMC managing LNAV/VNAV trajectories, performance derates (TO-1/TO-2, CLB-1/CLB-2), and RNP approaches.
Speed Trim System (STS) & Mach Trim
Automated horizontal stabilizer trim adjustments compensating for aerodynamic pitch changes at high and low speeds.
Dual Engine-Driven Generators & APU Gen
90 kVA generators providing 115V AC 400Hz power to AC Transfer Buses 1 and 2 with automatic bus tie transfer.
PILOT KNOWLEDGE BASE & DOSSIER

CHIEF INSTRUCTOR BRIEFING & OPERATIONAL NOTES

Due to the shorter fuselage compared to the -800, the 737-700 has significantly higher tailstrike margins on takeoff and landing (14.7° uncompressed). However, its lighter weight makes it more sensitive to gusty crosswinds during the flare.

AIRCRAFT TRIVIA & HIGHLIGHTS
1FACT #1

The 737-700 has the highest climb rate of the 737NG family because it has the same powerful CFM56 engines and large wing as the 737-800, but a much lighter body.

2FACT #2

Southwest Airlines was the launch customer for the 737-700 and operated the largest fleet of -700s in the world.

3FACT #3

The Boeing Business Jet (BBJ1) is based on the 737-700 airframe, equipped with auxiliary fuel tanks to fly non-stop for over 6,000 nautical miles.
