Key Systems Simulated

Checklist item triggers & flows

All-Electric Bleedless Systems Architecture
Replaces pneumatic bleed air with massive electric starter-generators, electrically powered cabin compressors, and electric wing de-icing.
Dual Head-Up Displays (HUD) as Standard Equipment
Both captain and first officer have dedicated holographic HUD units displaying synthetic flight guidance and low-visibility rollout cues.
Vertical & Lateral Gust Suppression System
Actuates flaperons, spoilers, and elevators automatically in response to wind sensors, smoothing out turbulence for passenger comfort.
Electro-Chromic Dimmable Windows
Electronic smart-glass passenger windows that tint from clear to deep midnight blue with the touch of a button without physical shades.
PILOT KNOWLEDGE BASE & DOSSIER

Technical Specifications, Trivia & Aviation Resources

In-depth operational references and airframe details for pilots preparing to command the Boeing 787-8 / 9 / 10 Dreamliner.

OPERATIONAL LIMITS & AIRFRAME METRICS

CHIEF INSTRUCTOR BRIEFING & OPERATIONAL NOTES

Fly the Head-Up Display (HUD) flight path vector (the "bird") directly onto the 3-degree descent marker. Keep power stabilized until 30 feet, then initiate a gentle 2-degree flare and retard thrust levers to IDLE.

AIRCRAFT TRIVIA & HIGHLIGHTS
1FACT #1

The 787's wings flex upward by more than 10 feet (3 meters) during flight, acting like giant shock absorbers in turbulence.

2FACT #2

It has no engine bleed air tubes: instead, large electric air compressors supply pressurized, fresh outside air to the cabin.

3FACT #3

Because the composite fuselage does not corrode like aluminum, the cabin air can be kept at higher humidity, preventing dry eyes and headaches.
